Having the right child safety seat and knowing how to properly install the seat in the car is crucial.\u00a0 While many states have improved their requirements for child restraint use, recent studies show that only half of children ages four through eight ride in any type of safety seat. According to national\u00a0data, 73 percent of child restraints are critically misused.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/news\/2012\/09\/childrens-regional-hospital-at-cooper-teams-up-with-mitsubishi-motors-and-kids-safety-first-to-host-free-child-safety-seat-inspections\/carseat-event-flyer\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-4682\" title=\"Carseat Event Flyer\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/news\/files\/2012\/09\/Carseat-Event-Flyer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"502\" height=\"665\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As part of Mitsubishi Motors 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Annual East Coast Mitsubishi Owners Day (MOD) event, families will receive personal hands-on training from certified child passenger safety technicians at Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper on how to properly select, install and use their child\u2019s car seat. An educational booth will provide families with additional automotive child safety materials, as well as coloring books, stickers and balloons for the children.<\/p>\n<p>Open to the public, Mitsubishi Owners Day features exciting production and prototype vehicles for all car fans. Families will enjoy food, music and the latest in Mitsubishi accessories and products.<\/p>\n<p>Event schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Child Passenger Safety Booth<\/strong>: 9 a.m. to 1p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Car Seat Checks\/Inspections<\/strong>: 12:30 p.m to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Appointments for car seat inspections are strongly encouraged.
