Sanjay Kumar, M.D., has already begun his two years of training at Cooper; and the new program has also secured a 2010 fellowship for Nyali Taylor, from the University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe program is designed to train surgeons in comprehensive, traditional, open vascular surgical techniques as well as minimally invasive, endovascular procedures,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/content\/FindAPhysician.htm?mem_id=1356\">Joseph V. Lombardi, M.D.<\/a>, Program Director and Division Head of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/content\/vascular_surgery.htm\">Vascular and Endovascular Surgery<\/a> at Cooper. \u201cThe vascular fellows will absorb a large clinical experience with newer technologies. This is made available through the division\u2019s involvement in clinical research trials such as endovascular thoracic and abdominal aortic surgery, as well as lower extremity and carotid interventions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acgme.org\/\">Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education<\/a> is a private, non-profit council that evaluates and accredits medical residency programs in the United States. The ACGME is responsible for the accreditation of post-MD medical training programs within the United States.
