Feingold, MD and Jackie Ficerai Tedeschi, RN!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/departments-programs\/childrens-regional-hospital\">Children\u2019s Regional Hospital<\/a> at Cooper and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/about-us\/cooper-foundation\"> The Cooper Foundation<\/a> of Cooper University Health Care last night honored two esteemed South Jersey leaders in pediatric medicine and raised $140,000 to benefit children\u2019s health care programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper offers expert clinical staff and advanced medical technology designed to diagnose and treat the most complex pediatric diseases,\u201d said George E. Norcross III, chairman of The Cooper Board of Trustees. \u201cThanks to the generosity of our donors, the Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper will continue to provide world class care in South Jersey and throughout the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Honorees <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/physicians\/anat-r-feingold-md\">Anat R. Feingold, MD<\/a>, and Jackie Ficerai Tedeschi, RN, CPN, were recognized for their dedication to providing excellence in pediatric care to children across South Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the leadership and mentorship of individuals like Dr. Feingold and Jackie Ficerai Tedeschi, Cooper continues to distinguish itself as the only state-recognized acute-care children\u2019s hospital, offering the most comprehensive pediatric program in South Jersey,\u201d said Michael Goodman, MD, chief of pediatrics at the Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper.<\/p>\n<p>More than 200 people attended the special evening reception, which was held in the Roberts Pavilion at Cooper University Hospital and raised $140,000. Proceeds will benefit The Children\u2019s Regional Hospital and four of its special programs: Cooper Learning Center, Child Life Program, Child Abuse Prevention and Pediatric HIV\/Treatment Center.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe celebrate Dr. Feingold and Jackie Ficerai Tedeschi, RN, CPN, and thank our event supporters for their commitment to making a difference in the lives of our littlest patients,\u201d said Susan Bass Levin, President and CEO of The Cooper Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Feingold is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She serves as the Division Head of Pediatric Infectious Disease; Director of the Inpatient Pediatric Unit; and she is the Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program at Cooper.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Feingold joined Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper in 1994, as an attending physician practicing closely with former chief of pediatrics Dr. Sidney Sussman in the Southern New Jersey Pediatric AIDS Program at Cooper. Dr. Feingold, who has been recognized by AIDS activist organizations and as a \u201cTop Doc\u201d by regional publications, discovered her passion for activism in the AIDS epidemic during her first fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I saw the effect of the AIDS epidemic on inner city communities, I knew that I wanted to become an infectious disease specialist,\u201d Dr. Feingold said.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie is celebrating 24 years as a pediatric nurse at Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper this year. She began her career at Cooper as a staff nurse and 18 months later was promoted to Associate Clinical Director of Pediatrics and the PICU, where she still serves today.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie is well known for her patient centered clinical care in addition to her coaching and mentoring of colleagues over the years, and shaping them into exceptional nurse leaders. She discovered nursing in college and chose it as a career path because of the many opportunities within the field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPediatrics has always held a special place for me because I am inspired by the courage and spirit of children and their families,\u201d Jackie explained. \u201cThrough my work at Cooper, I have a chance to impact families, and in turn, I am touched by them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Tribute Event was sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Cherry Hill and The Cooper Women\u2019s Board and included a special presentation, raffle prizes, a silent auction, cocktails and hors d\u2019oeuvres.
