The Chrome Riders annually sponsor a Toy Run where participants collect new toys and donations to purchase needed items for hospitalized children and drop them off during a visit to Cooper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur staff and patients really look forward to this event,\u201d said Robyn Harvey, RN, Senior Director of Patient Care Services at Cooper. \u201cWe are very appreciative of the Chrome Riders\u2019 generosity, and it certainly makes a big impression on our youngest patients, helping to brighten their stay with us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In past years, the Chrome Riders have purchased game systems, a large screen television for the parent break rooms, pediatric wheel chairs, rocking chairs, baby swings, strollers, high chairs and a digital camera and photo printer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is nothing better than bringing a smile to a sick child,\u201d said Mark Polo, organizer of the event. \u201cWe hope to make this year\u2019s event the best yet.\u201d While the number of participants varies from year to year, as many as 100 people have taken part in the toy run in the past, according to Polo. Non-club members are invited to take part in the Toy Run.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Toy Run will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013, beginning at The Rocking Stone Pub and Grill, 2011 South Delaware Avenue, Paulsboro, NJ. The line-up begins at 9 a.m. and the ride starts at 11 a.m. From there, the riders will convoy to Cooper. Following the toy drop off, the assembly will then return to the pub for lunch.<\/p>\n<p>Headquartered in South Jersey,<a href=\"http:\/\/chromeriders.org\/\"> Chrome Riders<\/a> is an organization of motorcyclists and their spouses and families dedicated to promoting a positive image of motorcycling. They participate in variety of charity fundraising and community events.
