Achieves Stage 6 on its<\/i> Electronic Medical Record Adoption ModelSM<\/sup><\/i><\/p>\n

The Information Technology Department at Cooper University Health Care was recently recognized by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) for achieving Stage 6 on the Electronic Medical Record Adoption ModelSM<\/sup> (EMRAM). Only 12.5 percent of more than 5,400 US hospitals traced by HIMSS Analytics have reached Stage 6.<\/p>\n

HIMSS Analytics developed the EMR Adoption Model in 2005 as a way for evaluating the progress and impact of electronic medical record systems for hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics\u2122 Database. The EMRAM is an eight-step process that allows a hospital to analyze its level of EMR adoption, chart accomplishments and track progress against other health care organizations across the country. These stages have proven to enable organizations to provide better quality of care and reduced costs.<\/p>\n
