AmeriHealth New Jersey has expanded its co-branded product offering with Cooper University Health Care to include Shore Medical Center and Cape Regional Medical Center. The addition of Shore and Cape has expanded the product\u2019s reach to also include Atlantic and Cape May counties, hence the plan\u2019s new name: \u201cCommunity Advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n

The initial co-branded product offering from AmeriHealth New Jersey and Cooper, called Cooper Advantage, became available in October 2013 and enrolled more than 11,500 members in the first six months. The plans were tailored to meet the needs for individuals and small businesses based in Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties, and were designed with tiered networks to provide more choice based on an individual\u2019s or business\u2019 budget.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmeriHealth New Jersey is solely focused on New Jersey, which allows us to concentrate on the needs of the people and businesses across the state and provide them with products they want and need,\u201d said Judith L. Roman, president and CEO for AmeriHealth New Jersey. \u201cWe are pleased that the product design we pioneered with Cooper has gained interest, and are excited to expand our reach with the addition of Shore Medical Center and Cape Regional Medical Center to Community Advantage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Current members who previously had access to Cooper University Health Care will also have access to the expanded hospitals\u2019 networks in Atlantic and Cape May counties effective January 1, 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe expansion of the program to include Shore Medical Center and Cape Regional Medical Center demonstrates our commitment to expand access to high-quality health services to a broader South Jersey community,\u201d said Adrienne Kirby, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cooper University Health Care. \u201cThe co-branded AmeriHealth New Jersey and Cooper University Health Care product was launched last year with great success, allowing many people in our region to receive high quality, affordable care. By collaborating with Shore Medical Center and Cape Regional Medical Center, we can provide consumers with even more options for health care coverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Consumers may choose a Community Advantage plan during the 2015 open enrollment period beginning November 15, 2014. Individuals and families selecting a Community Advantage plan will be able to use all three hospitals at the highest benefit level.<\/p>\n

“Shore Medical Center is proud to join AmeriHealth New Jersey’s ‘Community Advantage’ plan, giving individuals and families in South Jersey more choices and accessibility to high quality care,” said Ron Johnson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shore Medical Center.<\/p>\n

With Community Advantage, all three hospitals will collaborate with AmeriHealth New Jersey to help determine how best to deliver care. AmeriHealth New Jersey also provides clinical support to each facility.<\/p>\n
