These are the only hospital-based breast imaging centers in South Jersey to receive such a distinguished designation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no better way to defend yourself from breast cancer than by getting the best possible screenings,\u201d said Lydia Liao, Director of Women\u2019s Imaging in the Department of Radiology at Cooper University Hospital. \u201cWe offer patients the latest techniques and continue to be involved in research that looks at the best options for cancer detection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Cooper is one of only 12 accredited imaging centers in New Jersey to earn this distinction. The centers achieved full accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy after peer-review evaluations. These were conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.acr.org\/\">The American College of Radiology<\/a> is a national, professional organization serving more than 32,000 diagnostic\/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists.<\/p>\n<p>The Cooper Imaging Center at Voorhees offers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/content\/Radiology_Breast_Imaging.htm\">state-of-the-art breast screening<\/a> and diagnostic technologies including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/content\/Radiology_Breast_Imaging.htm\">digital mammography; computer-aided detection system<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/content\/Radiology_Breast_Imaging.htm\">breast ultrasound<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/content\/Radiology_Breast_Imaging.htm\">vacuum-assisted, core, breast biopsy with stereotactic or ultrasound guidance<\/a> and MRI scans and MRI-guided breast biopsy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis designation refers to the quality and safety of our program, and we are very proud of this achievement,\u201d said Raymond L.
