The patient said Engle\u2019s comforting words helped her cope after learning her baby was born with Down syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>Sean was recognized by a family for his care of their critically ill mother. They characterized Sean as a compassionate and empathetic caregiver who \u201cnot only checked on our mother consistently, but on us as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DAISY Award, established by The DAISY Foundation\u2122, is an international program that celebrates the extraordinary care given by nurses every day. It is presented in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Each quarter, Cooper honors a nurse with The DAISY Award.<\/p>\n<p>Each winner receives a DAISY Award recipient pin, a Healer\u2019s Touch hand-carved statue, an award certificate and a gift certificate to Cinnabon\u00ae. In addition, the selected nurse\u2019s unit receives a banner to post for the quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone\u2014patients, families, and professional colleagues\u2014may nominate a Cooper nurse for The DAISY Award. The DAISY nomination materials are located on nursing units and other public locations throughout Cooper\u2019s Camden Campus and at outpatient offices, as well as online through the Cooper website.
