It may progress quickly, but for most people, joint damage develops gradually over years. In some people, osteoarthritis is relatively mild and interferes little with day-to-day life; in others, it causes significant pain and disability.<\/p>\n<p>Treatment typically involves symptom relief through exercise, lifestyle changes, and a variety of over-the-counter and prescription medications. Now, researchers at Cooper University Health Care are embarking on an innovative clinical study to test whether extracted fat cells from a patient which are then reinjected into the same patient\u2019s knee can bring relief from osteoporosis pain. Cooper is one of only two clinical institutions in the nation participating in this study.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to participate in this clinical trial. Through our research efforts here at Cooper, we are able to test new treatment methods and advance medical knowledge,\u201d said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/physicians\/lawrence-s-miller-md\">Lawrence S.
