(Camden, NJ)\u00a0 — Cooper University Health Care recently recognized Caitlin Oshea, RN, of Garnet Valley, Delaware County, Pennsylvania with the DAISY Award<\/a> for providing exceptional nursing care.<\/p>\n

Caitlin, a nurse on Cooper\u2019s Progressive Care Unit, was nominated by the wife of a patient who described her as very caring, empathetic, and supportive. \u201cCaitlin showed extraordinary compassion,\u201d the patient\u2019s wife said. \u201cI felt good knowing she was taking care of him, she went above and beyond to give him his dignity back.\u201d<\/p>\n

The DAISY Award, established by The DAISY Foundation, is an international program that celebrates the extraordinary care given by nurses every day. It is presented in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Each quarter, Cooper honors a nurse with The DAISY Award.<\/p>\n

Each winner receives a DAISY Award recipient pin, a Healer\u2019s Touch hand-carved statue, an award certificate and a gift certificate to Cinnabon\u00ae. In addition, the selected nurse\u2019s unit receives a banner to post for the quarter.<\/p>\n

Anyone\u2014patients, families and professional colleagues\u2014may nominate a Cooper nurse for The DAISY Award. The DAISY nomination materials are located on nursing units and other public locations throughout the main Cooper campus and outpatient offices, as well as online through the Cooper website.
