Cooper was recognized in the Most Wireless and Most Improved categories. We are the only hospital in the region to be recognized in both categories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Information Technology management and the entire team have been working tirelessly over the past few years to implement new systems that have improved the safety and services offered to our patients and their family members,\u201d said John P. Sheridan, Jr., President and CEO at Cooper.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Most Wireless program recognizes Cooper for several new technological advancements which enhance patient safety and satisfaction, including smart pumps and the new secure wireless network that allows patients and their families, access to patient educational material, assuring total security to sensitive patient information. Smart Pumps are intravenous devices with smart technology that decrease medication errors and provide enhanced information on medication administration.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Cooper also received recognition on the Most Improved list for our efforts in working towards the implementation of the Electronic Health Record which was authorized by action of our Board of Trustees. In 1998, Cooper was one of only 21 hospitals in the U.S. with 100% Computerized Physician Order Entry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, we are on our way to being one of a few hospitals in the country with 100% Electronic Health Record covering the continuum of care throughout our system,\u201d said Simon Samaha, M.D., Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Cooper.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Camden, New Jersey) Cooper University Hospital has received a Most Wired Award from the Hospitals &#038; Health Networks\u2019 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study.
