Cancer survivorship is more than reaching the end of medical care. Survivorship is new set of physical, mental, and emotional triumphs and challenges shared by patients, families, and caregivers.<\/p>\n

This week, MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper<\/a> honored our survivors by hosting several celebrations during Cancer Survivor Week, which began on June 4 with National Cancer Survivors Day.<\/p>\n

More than 200 people attended “Being a Savvy Cancer Survivor,” an informative lunch and lecture event for newly diagnosed patients,\u00a0at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey. At this educational program, experts discussed what to expect during the transition from treatment to survivorship\u00a0and how diet, exercise, and emotional\u00a0wellness can help contribute to\u00a0a healthy survivorship.<\/p>\n

Physicians, nurses and staff also joined in the fun with our patients and their caregivers this week at ice cream socials held at both our Camden and Voorhees locations.<\/p>\n
