Most Wired Hospitals Use Technology to Partner With Patients on Health<\/h3>\n

For the sixth time, Cooper University Health Care<\/a> has been named one of the nation’s most wired hospitals by the annual Health Care\u2019s Most Wired\u00ae survey<\/a> developed by the American Hospital Association\u2019s Health Forum. According to the survey, now in its 19th\u00a0year, the hospitals listed are those who make it easier for patients and providers to interact, thus improving communication, safety, and patient-provider relationships.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to be acknowledged as a Most Wired hospital for 2017,\u201d said\u00a0Jayashree Raman<\/a>, senior vice president and chief information officer at Cooper. \u201cAt Cooper we are committed to leveraging technology to offer the highest quality care and patient experience in support of our mission to serve, to heal, and to educate. Every day we are implementing new innovations that improve health care access, safety, and delivery of care.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the survey, Most Wired hospitals are using smart phones, electronic medical records, remote monitoring, and other technologies to create more ways for patients to access health care services and capture health information.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Most Wired hospitals are using every available technology option to create more ways to reach their patients in order to provide access to care,\u201d said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. \u201cThey are transforming care delivery, investing in new delivery models in order to improve quality, provide access, and control costs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Health Care\u2019s Most Wired survey, conducted between January 15 and March 15, 2017, is published annually by Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN)<\/em>. The 2017 Most Wired survey and bench-marking study is a leading industry barometer measuring information technology (IT) use and adoption among hospitals nationwide.\u00a0The survey of 698 participants, representing an estimated 2,158 hospitals \u2014 more than 39 percent of all hospitals in the U.S. \u2014 examines how organizations are leveraging IT to improve performance for value-based health care in the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management, quality and safety, and clinical integration.<\/p>\n
