Oh, and that I am known as the \u201cSock Doc\u201d for my ever-changing collection of vibrant socks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where is your favorite vacation spot?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My favorite vacation spot is in Ravello, Italy, on the Amalfi Coast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us your favorite book, movie or song &#8211; and why.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My absolute favorite song is \u201cYou Raise Me Up\u201d by Josh Groban.\u00a0 It always takes me to a happy place and reminds me of the support my loved ones have given me over the years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What inspired you to become a cancer specialist?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was a combination of things. When I was in medical residency I thought I was going to be a cardiologist. My grandfather was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and passed away that year, so I spent a lot of time thrust into the world of oncology. I think it changed my perspective a bit and I developed a keen passion and interest for oncology.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your essential patient care philosophy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That no matter what, I\u2019m here for my patients. Your concerns are my concerns. I wouldn\u2019t be in this profession if it wasn\u2019t for the patients. A diagnosis of cancer is truly terrifying, no matter what, and I\u2019d like to think at the end of the day I can be that rock of support for my patients during what may be the most difficult time of their lives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you hope your patients say about you to their family and friends?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That they would recommend a family member to me. That is the ultimate compliment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What three words best describe you? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Empathetic, energetic, and dedicated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outside of your family and your work, what are your passions (pets, music, travel, history, etc.)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I love travelling and exploring different areas of the world. I love to read and learn about wine and I have a growing collection! At the end of the day, I love spending time with my friends. The company of others is very important to me.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you could have dinner with any three persons living or deceased, who would they be and why?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My Grandfather, Adele, and Betty White.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
