\"allen\"Last week, Rowan University held an undergraduate commencement ceremony for the class of 2010. Former graduate Marque Allen addressed those in attendance while accepting this year\u2019s Distinguished Alumnus Award.<\/p>\n

During his speech, Allen and his wife, Yvette, officially presented the University with the first donation to fund a scholarship at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. The $100,000 will assist a Rowan student in his or her first year at the medical school.<\/p>\n

“Rowan University did not teach me to be a doctor, but it did teach me that I could be one,” Allen said.<\/p>\n

Allen is a partner in Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio, where he serves as the foot and ankle consultant for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs and other sports teams.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
