This highly specialized surgical training program is only the second of its kind in New Jersey. ENT residency training is in high demand and typically one of the most competitive residency programs nationally. Cooper will welcome its first ENT resident in 2019.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9290\" style=\"width: 179px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9290\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9290\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/news\/files\/2018\/12\/Nadir-Ahmad-MD-FACS.jpg\" alt=\"Nadir Ahmad, MD, FACS\" width=\"169\" height=\"225\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-9290\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nadir Ahmad, MD, FACS<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis achievement attests to the high quality of Cooper\u2019s ENT program, and reflects the effort, skills, and commitment of our dedicated team of medical professionals,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/doctors\/nadir-ahmad-md\">Nadir Ahmad, MD, FACS<\/a>, Head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/services\/otolaryngology\">Division of Otolaryngology &#8211; Head and Neck Surgery<\/a> at Cooper, Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cooperhealth.org\/services\/head-and-neck-cancer-center\">Head and Neck Cancer Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper<\/a>, and Associate Professor of Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled that South Jersey will now have its only ENT residency program,\u201d said Dr. Ahmad, who will serve as program director for the new residency. \u201cENT residency training is highly sought after and typically one of the most competitive residencies that medical students can match into.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The five-year training program will provide residents with education in the comprehensive evaluation, as well as medical and surgical management of patients of all ages having otolaryngologic diseases and disorders. This includes diseases and disorders of the head, neck, ears, upper respiratory, and upper alimentary systems and related structures.
