Follow these safe grilling tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start with a clean grill to decrease bacteria and residual carcinogens.<\/li>\n<li>Never reuse the marinade that was used to soak raw meat.<\/li>\n<li>Marinate meat for at least 30 minutes to\u00a0avoid charring and increased exposure to carcinogens.<\/li>\n<li>If possible, place grill on a low-heat setting\u00a0to reduce charring and flame flare-ups,\u00a0decreasing exposure to heterocyclic\u00a0amines and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are carcinogenic.<\/li>\n<li>Place grilled foods on a clean plate (not the one that held the raw meat).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Boost Your Vitamin D<\/h4>\n<p>Spend\u00a015 minutes in the sun every day. Maintaining\u00a0appropriate levels of Vitamin D is important for your bone health and overall wellness.<\/p>\n<h4>Stay Active<\/h4>\n<p>The ultimate goal is\u00a0to exercise for 30 minutes per day, at least\u00a05 times per week. If you are not currently\u00a0active, start small and gradually increase the\u00a0intensity and duration of your activity as you get stronger over time.<\/p>\n<h4>Hydrate<\/h4>\n<p>Be careful not to get dehydrated\u00a0in the summer heat. Make water your\u00a0beverage of choice and eat hydrating fruits\u00a0and veggies like watermelon, strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, and spinach.<\/p>\n<h4>Use Sunscreen<\/h4>\n<p>Use a broad-spectrum\u00a0sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or\u00a0higher for protection from both UVA and\u00a0UVB rays.
