2020 Open Enrollment: Last Call for Benefit Changes!

Cooper’s 2020 Open Enrollment period is November 11 through November 26, 2019. Your benefit elections will determine whether your enrollment is passive (no action necessary) or active (requires action).

  • Current participants in the Basic and Core Plans do not have to take action and will have a passive enrollment for 2020 unless you decide to make a change to your existing benefit elections and/or enroll in a flexible spending account.
  • Current participants in the Standard Plan must take action to actively enroll during this enrollment period or you will be automatically defaulted to the Core Plan with the same level of coverage and same tobacco user designation that you are currently enrolled in.

This year, we have partnered with Independence Administrators, a subsidiary of Independence Blue Cross, to give you expanded access to health care providers through the national BlueCard® PPO Program. BlueCard® is a national program that enables members of one Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Plan to obtain health care services while traveling or living in another BCBS Plan’s service area. BlueCard® links participating health care providers across the country, and in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

Additionally, we’ve made changes to our Core and Standard Plans. Most notably, under the Core Plan there will be a $0 copay (previously $30) for office visits when you see a Cooper provider.

There are no increases to dental, vision, or life insurance contributions.

During Open Enrollment, you have the opportunity to purchase Voluntary Short Term Disability and Supplemental Life Insurance coverage without having to complete a Medical Evidence of Insurability form if you have not previously applied for these benefits. In addition, Voluntary Short Term Disability pre-existing limitations will be waived for the 2020 Open Enrollment.

Download Cooper’s Open Enrollment Guide, which provides additional details about your benefits. A copy of the guide will also be mailed to your home.
