Cooper University Health Care recently recognized Jennifer Orr, RN, of Collingswood, NJ, with The DAISY Award for providing exceptional nursing care. Orr is a nurse in Cooper\u2019s Intensive Care Unit.<\/p>\n

Orr was nominated by Mary Jane Durkin, MSN, RN, OCN, an oncology clinical educator at Cooper, following a hospitalization.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe never assumed because I was a nurse, that I knew everything,\u201d said Durkin, who has since recovered from coronary bypass surgery. \u201cShe explained everything to me, encouraged me, and helped my family get through the experience. She made a meaningful difference to all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Durkin, a previous DAISY award winner, was in attendance as Orr was presented the award.<\/p>\n

The DAISY Award, established by The DAISY Foundation, is an international program that celebrates the extraordinary care given by nurses every day. It is presented in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives.<\/p>\n
