They provide comprehensive care that emphasizes patient education, preventive care, and chronic care management, and often serve as a patient\u2019s principal health care provider. With thousands of hours of medical training, PAs are versatile and collaborative \u2013 they practice in every medical setting and specialty.<\/p>\n<p>At Cooper, our PAs are a vital part of the clinical team and they perform a number of essential duties, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Taking medical histories.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting physical exams.<\/li>\n<li>Diagnosing and treating illnesses.<\/li>\n<li>Ordering and interpreting tests.<\/li>\n<li>Developing treatment plans.<\/li>\n<li>Prescribing medications.<\/li>\n<li>Counseling on preventive care.<\/li>\n<li>Performing procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting in surgeries.<\/li>\n<li>Making rounds in hospitals and nursing homes.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting clinical research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you to our PAs for the outstanding care you provide to our patients and their families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every year from October 6 to October 12, Cooper University Health Care recognizes National Physician Assistant (PA) Week and celebrates the many important contributions that PAs make to health care.
