Having surgery can be stressful for anyone, but especially for children. Thanks to a special donation from Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group, children at Children\u2019s Regional Hospital at Cooper will now have a new way to relieve some of their stress and anxiety while preparing for surgery.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the auto group visited Cooper on October 17 to donate three mini, luxury remote-controlled cars \u2013 a VW Beetle, a Mercedes, and an Audi. The cars will be used by the children under staff supervision to drive themselves to the Operating Room prior to surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to thank Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group for this wonderful donation,\u201d said Matthew Moront, MD, Head of the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Cooper. \u201cBeing in the hospital is scary for children. Having surgery is scary. Any way that we can relieve children\u2019s anxiety and fear helps to promote healing and recovery. These cars will be important tools in helping us achieve that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs longtime supporters of Cooper, we wanted to do something special for the children, something that would make a difference during their stay,\u201d said Michael Hartung, President of Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group, who serves as a member of The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees along with his daughter, Amanda DiMattia, COO of Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group. \u201cWe are proud to support the important work that takes place at Cooper every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
