We are pleased to announce the 2019 winners of Cooper\u2019s Quality and Patient Safety Awards, which recognize innovative efforts geared toward improving care and creating a safe environment for patients and staff. This year\u2019s teams exhibited tremendous leadership, teamwork, and innovation in their respective improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
The winners were selected by a committee of Cooper employees. The programs were evaluated on a number of metrics, including high quality clinical outcomes achieved, improved patient safety, sustainability, and measurable results.<\/p>\n
The Quality and Patient Safety Award<\/strong> goes to the Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) ICU Workgroup for their comprehensive, evidence-based performance improvement plan for the Critical Care unit, which has demonstrated a significant reduction in central line associated blood stream infections.<\/p>\n The Quality and Patient Safety Operational Award<\/strong> goes to the Triage Severity Category (ESI) 2 Door to Doctor Team for their design of a physical (and concordant electronic) solution to triage patients in a more efficient manner.<\/p>\n Thank you to everyone who submitted entries.
