Did you know that lymphedema is estimated to affect 250 million people worldwide and 15% of all cancer survivors? Lymphedema is swelling in the arm that occurs when the lymph system does not drain properly after some of the lymph nodes under the arm are surgically removed or treated with radiation. It is not always clear why some people have swelling and others do not, and it can occur within days, months, or years after treatment.<\/p>\n

World Lymphedema Day is\u00a0an annual advocate-driven celebration when our teams at Cooper are excited to educate the world about lymphedema and lymphatic diseases, and the impact they have on so many people. We are committed to finding a cure for lymphedema, and awareness of the problem is the first step.<\/p>\n
