Date Extended for Patient Safety Culture Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The past few months of the COVID-19 pandemic have shown us just how important it is to promote a culture of safety. We must continually look for opportunities to adapt and improve our safety measures to protect our patients and ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>The AHRQ Survey on Patient Safety Culture, issued every two years by the ECRI Institute, is a great tool to assess how well we are doing on issues of patient safety as we progress on our journey to become a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Therefore, it is important to have input from all of our clinical, patient-facing employees.\u00a0By completing this anonymous survey, you will help us improve patient safety at Cooper.<\/p>\n<p>Employee feedback from the 2018 survey resulted in a number of positive organizational changes, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New equipment to enhance the delivery of safe care, including barcode scanners, printers, and EPIC technology.<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing reevaluation of safety processes related to handoffs and transitions.<\/li>\n<li>Ability for employees to feel comfortable sharing their concerns about Cooper\u2019s culture of safety.<\/li>\n<li>On August 10, 2020, Cooper employees were sent an email with the survey. Employees who work in clinical and patient-facing roles should use one of the two links provided to access the survey most relevant to your primary work location (i.e., hospital vs. ambulatory office).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please take the survey before it closes!
