{"id":13003,"date":"2020-11-10T19:03:46","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T00:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/?p=13003"},"modified":"2020-11-10T19:03:46","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T00:03:46","slug":"the-falls-committee-heard-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/2020\/11\/the-falls-committee-heard-you\/","title":{"rendered":"The Falls Committee Heard You!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Based on the feedback and need for additional safety equipment, Cooper University Health Care has purchased enough chair alarms to accommodate each patient in need.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper\u2019s Maintenance Department will be systematically installing a dedicated, wall-mounted Posey chair alarm on each headwall of our patients\u2019 rooms.<\/p>\n<p>Important information:<br \/>\n\u2022 Chair alarms slide on and off the wall mount. The on\/off switch is still in back and each has four AA batteries.<br \/>\n\u2022 The process to obtain chair alarm pads will remain same. Pads will transition from green to white.<br \/>\n\u2022 All chair alarm pads are single patient use \u2013 pads are disposed of after discharge.<br \/>\n\u2022 Staff should continue to follow the same cleaning process, but the alarm will stay on the wall mount in the room \u2013 not with EVS.<\/p>\n<p>Extra chair alarms with brackets will be installed on units as additional supply for portable use as needed.<\/p>\n<p>Statistics:<br \/>\n2019 = 220 falls<br \/>\n2020 year-to-date falls = 141<\/p>\n<p>We have increased our \u201cassisted falls\u201d by use of bed alarms and chair alarms from 28 in 2019 to 37 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/files\/2020\/11\/Posey-OnCue-Brochure.pdf\">Click here<\/a><\/strong> for the Posey brochure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Based on the feedback and need for additional safety equipment, Cooper University Health Care has purchased enough chair alarms to accommodate each patient in need.
