  2. Stevie Wonder is not only\u00a0the first Black artist to win a Grammy for Album of the Year<\/a>\u00a0for 1973’s\u00a0Innervisions, but the first and only musician to win Album of the Year with three consecutive studio albums.<\/li>\n
  3. In 1981, broadcast journalist Bryant Gumbel\u00a0became the first Black person to host a network morning show<\/a>\u00a0when he joined NBC’s\u00a0Today Show.<\/li>\n
  4. In 1940,\u00a0Hattie McDaniel became the first Black person<\/a>\u00a0to win an Oscar for her supporting role in\u00a0Gone With the Wind. Twenty-four years later,\u00a0Sidney Poitier became the first<\/a>\u00a0Black man to win an Oscar for his leading role in\u00a0Lilies of the Field.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
