During the week of February 15 to 19, 2021, members of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University\u2019s (CMSRU) chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society will celebrate National Solidarity Week by participating in the Tell Me More\u00ae<\/em> project.<\/p>\n

Tell Me More\u00ae<\/em> is a simple, brief, yet genuine way to humanize interactions with others, especially in light of the current pandemic and the necessary safety measures that may make it difficult for patients to feel connected to their care team. The Tell Me More\u00ae<\/em> program enhances humanism, professionalism, and empathic patient care by building bridges between people.<\/p>\n

A growing body of research shows how increased connection between patients and the health care team improves satisfaction and outcomes. A positive connection with a patient can translate into a better experience for patients, employees, and the entire care team. Here\u2019s how you can participate:<\/p>\n

1) Share Tell Me More<\/strong>\u00ae with a patient: <\/strong>Explain that you have a program that will help share information important to the patient with their health care team. Participation is completely optional.<\/p>\n

2) Complete the Tell Me More\u00ae poster together: <\/strong>Ask the patient about various interests, hobbies, or family\/friends who are important to them. For example: What is meaningful to you in your life? What activities bring you happiness? Write down their replies. If the patient is not able to communicate, you may be able to do this with a family member.<\/p>\n

3) Post the Tell Me More\u00ae poster in the patient\u2019s room: <\/strong>Hang the poster (provided to you) on the wall in the patient\u2019s room or on the window of the patient’s room, so that all health care team members who provide care to the patient can see it.\"\"<\/p>\n
