Who\u2019s Who This Month in Health Care<\/strong><\/p>\n You\u2019ll find medical-surgical nurses caring for our patients as they recover from surgery or while they\u2019re acutely ill. Our Kelemen teams provide wound care, dialysis, telemetry monitoring, and more. They also offer medical and nursing support to patients and their support team during times of illness, crisis, and distress.<\/p>\n Our Patient Transport team compassionately fulfills the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations. This allows our care teams to provide treatment and other services efficiently.<\/p>\n Our Medical Staff Services team focuses on patient safety and ensuring excellence across the Cooper team. From provider credentialing and privileging to accreditation and regulatory compliance, this team stays ahead of state and federal requirements so that Cooper is always providing our patients and their families with the best care possible.<\/p>\n Allied health professionals at Cooper can be found at every location, from Willingboro to Voorhees, Camden to Sewell, and more. Chances are you may know an allied health professional by a different name: Dietitians, medical technologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, radiographers, respiratory therapists, speech language pathologists, and more! They\u2019re an important part of the multidisciplinary approach to care that you\u2019ll find at Cooper.<\/p>\n National Compliance Week was established to shine a spotlight on the importance of compliance and ethics. Cooper is dedicated to conducting its mission of providing high-quality health care in accordance with the highest levels of business ethics and in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and requirements. We do this by detecting and preventing healthcare fraud, waste and abuse, as well as protecting the privacy of our patients and employees.<\/p>\n The theme for this year\u2019s National Nurse Practitioner Week is \u201cNPs: Going the Extra Mile.\u201d Cooper\u2019s nurse practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice providers who can diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses. They also focus on health promotion and disease prevention.<\/p>\n Cooper\u2019s NPs provide care in primary, acute, and specialty settings, as well as in patient homes, and work collaboratively with all members of the health care team. NPs focus on health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling to help patients make healthier lifestyle choices.<\/p>\n With clinical expertise, NPs provide a full range of services including:<\/p>\n You can learn more about their role here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Radiation technology is an important part of your health, from diagnosis through treatment. Cooper teams that use radiation technology include radiation therapists, dosimetrists, nuclear medicine technicians, breast imaging specialists, and more. Without the role of diagnostic imaging and the technologists who are trained to perform it, many illnesses and injuries would be much more difficult to diagnose and treat.\u00a0This past year alone, Cooper\u2019s Radiology team performed more than 286,000 exams.
