Andrea M. Russo, MD, FACC, FHRS, FAHA,<\/strong> Director, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Services,\u00a0and past-president of the Heart Rhythm Society, continues to participate\u00a0in No Time to Wait, <\/em>an advocacy campaign that\u00a0aims\u00a0to raise awareness of the symptoms of three conditions \u2013 atrial fibrillation (AFib), deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism. AFib is the most common type of irregular heartbeat and increases the risk for stroke.<\/p>\n

The first phase of the campaign, a Bristol Myers Squibb-Pfizer collaboration, aired in the fall of 2020. The second campaign is airing now, during Heart Awareness Month.<\/p>\n

This public service announcement emphasizes the importance of seeking medical attention at the first signs of\u00a0symptoms.<\/p>\n
