{"id":1555,"date":"2014-11-24T12:01:18","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T12:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/?p=1555"},"modified":"2014-11-21T19:38:16","modified_gmt":"2014-11-21T19:38:16","slug":"second-annual-camden-scholars-forum-poster-contest-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/2014\/11\/second-annual-camden-scholars-forum-poster-contest-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Second Annual Camden Scholars\u2019 Forum Poster Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Save the Date!<\/strong> Cooper University Health Care and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University present the Second Annual Camden Scholars\u2019 Forum Poster Contest.<\/p>\n<p>The program recognizes outstanding achievement in the fields of research and performance improvement. All eligible research posters will be judged by Cooper and CMSRU faculty. Contest winners will give short oral presentations about their projects during the forum in<strong> May 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Categories for poster applications are: Clinical, Basic, Case Study, Medical Student, Nursing Research, Allied Health and Performance Improvement (PI). Applications will be available on the Cooper Portal.<\/p>\n<p>Performance Improvement projects will include Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance and Patient Safety projects. The important difference is that the submissions in this category will be reviewed for the \u201cintent\u201d of the project. The intent should be aimed at improving local systems of care, not generalized results.<\/p>\n<p>PI projects must be discussed with the IRB prior to initiation or collection of data to ensure that the project is not actually research. Please email a detailed description of the project, and a request for the IRB\u2019s determination, to the IRB at <em>IRBOnlineHelp@cooperhealth.edu<\/em> prior to<strong> January 29, 2015<\/strong>. If the IRB determines that the project is research, an electronic application must be submitted to the IRB for review and approval by <strong>January 29, 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important dates and deadlines to keep in mind:<\/strong><br \/>\no Biostatistician initial meeting deadline is <strong>Friday, January 9, 2015<\/strong>.<br \/>\no Final IRB review and approval deadline is <strong>Thursday, February 19, 2015<\/strong>.<br \/>\no Contestant applications deadline is <strong>Friday, February 27, 2015<\/strong>.<br \/>\no Final biostatistics meeting is <strong>Friday, March 6, 2015<\/strong>.<br \/>\no Contestant abstracts deadline is <strong>Friday, March 27, 2015<\/strong>.<br \/>\no Camden Scholar\u2019s Forum Poster Contest will begin <strong>Monday, April 20, 2015<\/strong>.<br \/>\no Winner\u2019s Forum will be<strong> Friday, May 15, 2015<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>CMSRU students who conducted projects this past summer that have already been reviewed and approved by the IRB do not need another IRB approval. Just complete the application and submit the abstract. If you have any questions prior to project application submissions, please email <em>researchweek@cooperhealth.edu<\/em>.
