Cooper\u2019s June Employee of the Month is Mary Thomas, RN.<\/p>\n
Mary was born\u00a0and raised in India, where she worked\u00a0in an\u00a0operating room after\u00a0graduating\u00a0from nursing school in 1999. She immigrated to America in 2004 and began working as a nurse associate in a nursing home. She joined the Cooper team in 2005 as a nurse associate in the Med Surg\/Oncology unit. After passing her National Council Licensure Exam in 2005, Mary continued to work in that unit as an RN for 16 years. In January 2021, she transferred to the surgical care\/short procedure\/same day surgery unit. Mary enjoys working with her team and shares the same goals as her colleagues, which are, “to take good care of all patients and treat them as their own family members.”<\/p>\n
Mary enjoys baking and doing arts and crafts activities in her leisure time.\u00a0 Below are some of the nominations that were submitted for Mary:<\/p>\n

She is an advocate for patients in distress, a calming presence for patients experiencing anxiety, and a great coworker to have on our team. She rarely if ever complains and gives 100% every day. She is more than deserving of employee of the month.”<\/p>\n
“Mary Thomas is the nurse that you would want to take care of someone you loved or yourself. She is continuously going above and beyond for each and every one of her patients. She pays attention to the fine details and overall picture while having a beautiful smile on her face. Her personality brings light to our unit, and we are so thankful to be able to work alongside her!”<\/p>\n
