The award is presented to the winner in November.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations are now open. To be eligible for nomination for the award, a team member must be a veteran or an active member of the military in any branch (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, or National Guard) and have been employed at Cooper for one year.<\/p>\n<p>Nominations can be made online by clicking <a href=\"https:\/\/request.cooperhealth.org\/military\/\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> The nomination deadline is <strong>Friday, October 21, 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Past recipients of the award:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>James Irwin \u2013 2021<\/li>\n<li>Joe Milton \u2013 2020<\/li>\n<li>Karen Gruber, RN \u2013 2020<\/li>\n<li>Ella Hawk, APN \u2013 2019<\/li>\n<li>John Chovanes, DO, FACS, COL, USAR, MC \u2013 2018<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2018, Cooper established the Military Person of the Year Award \u2013 now called the Armed Forces Person of the Year Award \u2013 to honor a deserving team member who has made significant contributions to Cooper or in the community.
