AMWA functions at the local, national and international level to advance women in medicine and improve women\u2019s health by providing and developing leadership, advocacy, education, expertise, mentoring and strategic alliances. Effective mentorship helps students gain the knowledge, skills and resources necessary for a successful career in medicine.
