\"academy\"<\/a>Medical school is a dream or goal for many, and for high school students interested in a career in medicine, a medical school summer program can be the first step on the path to becoming a doctor.<\/p>\n

This summer, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is offering MEDacademy, its first-ever program for highly motivated and academically gifted high school students and college freshmen who are interested in a career in medicine. The four-week, summer day-program, located on the campus of CMSRU, provides the opportunity to explore the world of medicine through lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive and clinical activities taught by faculty, medical students and staff of CMSRU. This one-of-a-kind experience is designed to introduce students to medical school and help refine their interest in medicine.<\/p>\n

CMSRU is accepting 20 students for the inaugural 2015 summer program. Eligible candidates should be rising junior and senior high school students and 2015 college freshmen who are in excellent academic standing and demonstrate an interest in medicine. The MEDacademy brochure, application and permission forms are available for download at www.rowan.edu\/coopermed\/medacademy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

MEDacademy runs June 29, 2015, through July 24, 2015, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuition for the four-week program is $2,500 and includes scrubs and stethoscope, daily lunch, field trips, graduation diploma and ceremony.<\/p>\n
