{"id":17161,"date":"2023-01-31T14:47:14","date_gmt":"2023-01-31T19:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/?p=17161"},"modified":"2023-01-31T15:30:14","modified_gmt":"2023-01-31T20:30:14","slug":"black-history-month-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/2023\/01\/black-history-month-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Black History Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tomorrow, February 1, 2023, is the first day of Black History Month, an opportunity to highlight the many significant achievements made by Black Americans to our nation\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Black History Month theme, set by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, is \u201cBlack Resistance.\u201d The theme explores how &#8220;African Americans have resisted historic and ongoing oppression, in all forms, especially the racial terrorism of lynching, racial pogroms, and police killings,&#8221; since the nation&#8217;s earliest days.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage you to use\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pulse-plus.cooperhealth.edu\/member?uid=67&amp;channel=Email\"><strong>Pulse+<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to share your reflections during Black History Month. Please share your thoughts on Black culture, contributions, and achievements.<\/p>\n<p>You can also test your knowledge of Black history with our Pulse+ quiz. Beginning February 1, check Pulse+ every weekday for a new question. Everyone who answers a question correctly will be entered into a prize drawing each week for Cooper swag.<\/p>\n<p>Activities and updates about our month-long celebration will be shared in Weekly Rounds and on\u00a0<strong>Pulse+<\/strong>\u00a0throughout the month.
