{"id":17652,"date":"2023-04-11T14:41:15","date_gmt":"2023-04-11T18:41:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/?p=17652"},"modified":"2023-04-11T14:41:15","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T18:41:15","slug":"updates-to-covid-19-masking-and-screening-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cooperhealth.org\/weeklyrounds\/2023\/04\/updates-to-covid-19-masking-and-screening-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Updates to COVID-19 Masking and Screening Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In response to decreasing transmission rates of COVID-19 and guidance changes from the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health, we are pleased to announce changes to our masking and symptom screening policies starting <strong>Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 7 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These changes are in line with other regional academic health systems in New Jersey, including RWJBarnabas Health and Hackensack Meridian Health. The new policies are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We will <strong>no longer have symptom screening for patients and visitors<\/strong> at the entry points to any Cooper facilities. Signs will continue to direct visitors who are experiencing COVID-19, cold, or flu-like symptoms to wear a mask.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Masks are optional in certain non-patient care areas<\/strong>, including the hospital lobby, hallways outside of clinical units, elevators, meeting rooms, breakrooms on and outside of units, cafeterias, and offices within the hospital where no patient care takes place.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Masks are still required in patient care areas<\/strong> for team members, patients, and visitors, including on hospital units (Med Surg, Critical Care, etc.), and in departments and outpatient facilities, including waiting rooms <strong>where direct patient care is provided<\/strong> (physician offices, ED, Urgent Care, Radiology, PT\/OT).<\/li>\n<li>There is NO change to our policy in areas where N-95 respirators are required. <a href=\"https:\/\/cooperhealth.policytech.com\/dotNet\/documents\/?docid=25751&amp;anonymous=true\"><strong>Click here<\/strong><\/a> for details.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Please respect and support every team member, patient, or visitor who wishes to continue to wear a mask in any Cooper facility.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will continue to monitor conditions and make further modifications to our policies as warranted.\u00a0For questions, please contact Dr. Raquel Nahra at <a href=\"mailto:Nahra-Raquel@CooperHealth.edu\">Nahra-Raquel@CooperHealth.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In response to decreasing transmission rates of COVID-19 and guidance changes from the CDC and the New Jersey Department of Health, we are pleased to announce\u2026<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":64,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-17652","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.3 -
