Are you planning to conduct a chart review study to answer a research question? Do you know what types of resources the Cooper Human Research Protections Program (HRPP) can provide to support you?<\/p>\n

Research using medical record review is common, yet many clinicians, residents, fellows, students,\u00a0and research staff may be unfamiliar with important aspects of conducting these studies. To learn more, the HRPP invites you to join us for two upcoming virtual training sessions to discuss best practices you should know before beginning to plan chart review research.<\/p>\n

Medical Chart Review Studies: Steps to Submission Success<\/strong><\/p>\n

July 11, 2023, at noon <\/strong><\/p>\n

This training is designed to cover best practices for conducting chart review research at Cooper. This training will orient you to the resources available to support chart review studies, show you how to prepare a medical chart review study submission for the Cooper IRB review\u00a0process, and provide you with an overview of special considerations when conducting this type of research.<\/p>\n

HRPP Education and Partnership Discussion: Managing Coded Private Information and Specimens <\/strong><\/p>\n

June 13, 2023, at noon<\/strong><\/p>\n

This session will begin with education on best practices in working with coded private information and coded specimens, with an emphasis on coded data in the context of chart review research. Following the training, attendees will have a chance to view and participate in an interactive discussion to provide feedback on\u00a0new submission templates and resources related to medical chart review studies. Attendee feedback will be considered in the development of these resources for the Cooper research community, so please join us to ensure we hear from you.<\/p>\n

All investigators are invited to attend these trainings. The HRPP also extends a special invitation to residents,\u00a0students, and other trainees\u00a0or new researchers who may benefit from learning more about conducting chart review research at Cooper.<\/p>\n
