<\/p>\nJillian Cooper, RN, BSN, a staff nurse on Kelemen 8, is the Daisy Award winner for March\u00a02023. Jillian’s\u00a0dedication to Cooper Nursing and the extraordinary care she provided to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolade:<\/p>\n
“I responded to an RRT on this unit. As the ICU nurse holding the code phone, I was lucky enough to interact with this nurse, who called a rapid response and actively engaged with a patient that was not her own. She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaged and skilled as she navigated a critical situation necessitating ICU transfer. Her diligence, unwavering support, and advocacy for this patient absolutely saved the patient\u2019s life, much more so than my presence there are the critical care nurse. Even though the patient was not hers, she helped me transfer the patient to the ICU and actively participated in stabilizing vitals and checking emergent blood products. Before I left, I heard her get the news that she would receive her third admission of the night and listened to her gracefully redirect her attention to the next job to be done, with no frustration or anger. I attended a master class on nursing from watching her yesterday. I am so thankful we are on the same team. She is, literally, a life saver. Thank you.”<\/p>\n
