To help bolster the safety of Cooper\u2019s Emergency Department and protect our valued team members, patients, and visitors, Cooper Security will begin locking the sliding ambulance entrance doors and restricting non-EMS personnel from using the doors as an entrance or exit beginning Monday, July 3, 2023, at 7 a.m. Only Cooper team members who are actively assisting EMS with patient transport will be permitted to use these doors. All other team members will be directed to use an alternate entrance or exit.<\/p>\n
Security will monitor the doors and assist EMS team members when they enter; there will also be an outside keypad for EMS to enter through the doors if Security is not present. Security will document and report any team member who challenges this policy and attempts to use the doors for non-patient care purposes.<\/p>\n
