On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from noon to 4 p.m.,\u00a0Cooper\u2019s Disaster Medicine, Emergency Department, and Trauma teams will partner with the Camden County HAZMAT team to conduct a full-scale decontamination exercise.<\/p>\n

Community volunteers will act as victims exposed to an unknown chemical agent. The volunteers will undergo \u201cfield decontamination\u201d with Camden County’s mobile Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Threats Task Force, \u201cmass casualty decontamination\u201d with our fire hydrant Trident One decontamination system, and finally \u201chospital decontamination\u201d provided by Cooper\u2019s emergency department and trauma technicians and nurses.<\/p>\n

This large-scale event will help prepare our community for a chemical, biological, or nuclear event and will help reinforce the professionalism and collaboration between Cooper and Camden County.<\/p>\n
