This is recognition of Dr. Porter\u2019s expertise, leadership, and experience in the field of trauma care. He will begin working in this role in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>In this new role, Dr. Porter will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide subject matter expertise to assist the leadership of the New Jersey Department of Health in the development and implementation of the statewide trauma system plan.<\/li>\n<li>Guide the State Trauma System Advisory Committee\u2019s efforts to plan, develop, and enhance the statewide trauma system plan.<\/li>\n<li>Develop quality assurance standards for trauma care and assist in the implementation of quality improvement programs for trauma care in New Jersey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. Porter will remain a full-time Cooper team member in his current role as he fulfills his duties as State Trauma Medical Director.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Dr. Porter on his selection for this important statewide role.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In May, the New Jersey Department of Health, under then-Commissioner Judith Persichilli, selected Cooper\u2019s John Porter, MD, to serve as the new State Trauma Medical Director.
