Kelly Van RN, BSN, a nurse on Kelemen 10, is the Daisy Award winner for May\u00a02023. Kelly\u2019s\u00a0dedication to Cooper Nursing and the extraordinary care she provides to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolade:<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mother has been in Cooper for over 50 days. While she received excellent care all around, this woman easily set herself apart by exuding abundant patience, compassion, attentiveness, and knowledge. We felt an immediate connection to her, which provided an ease we have rarely felt these last few months. She has cared for my mom for several days thus far and each day she makes us feel recognized and valued as advocates as she updates and educates us on all the many intricacies of my mom\u2019s care. We have so much gratitude for the extremely attentive, empathetic, and tender way that she cares for my mom. I cannot properly articulate how comforting it feels that my mom has a nurse that treats her like a person, not just a patient. We can trust that while she is caring for my mom, that her critical illness is constantly being monitored and addressed and never downplayed. She has left an incredible mark on us, and we are truly grateful for her. She is so deserving of this award.\u201d<\/p>\n
