\"stroke_wr\"<\/a>Each year, more than 130,000 Americans die from stroke; that’s one in every 20 deaths. Even with survival, the lasting effects of stroke can be debilitating. Understanding the signs of a stroke is key; the quicker a stroke-sufferer is treated by a doctor, the lower the risk of developing a long-term disability.<\/p>\n

Knowing the acronym FAST<\/strong> to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke \u2013 F<\/strong>ace drooping, A<\/strong>rm weakness, S<\/strong>peech difficulty, T<\/strong>ime to call 9-1-1 \u2013 can save valuable time. Healthy eating habits and regular exercise can prevent a stroke from happening. Together, we can use our brain power to raise stroke awareness.<\/p>\n
