There are nurses. And then there are Cooper nurses.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meet Colleen Radtke, RNC.<\/p>\n

Q: What unit do you work on and for how long?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been a nurse at Cooper for 13 years, 12 being in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.<\/p>\n

Q: Why did you become a nurse?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have always been a nurturing person who likes to be a caretaker. In kindergarten, I said I wanted to be a \u201cbaby doctor\u201d when I grew up, so close enough, I guess!<\/p>\n

Q: What do you love most about being a Cooper nurse?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Working at such a major health care system in South Jersey allows so many opportunities to learn. Our amazing Labor and Delivery team takes care of such high-acuity mothers from all over the region, which can lead to some pretty sick infants. We are one of the few Level III NICUs in the area, with many specialties available and the only one in South Jersey with in-house pediatric surgery. It\u2019s a good feeling to know we are the best in the area at what we do!<\/p>\n

Q: What do you need to get through your 12-hour shift?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My work family, Alani Nu, and an occasional warm cookie from the caf!<\/p>\n

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love hanging with my family, doing fun things with my kids, and shopping at Target.<\/p>\n
