Cierra Howard, BSN, RN, a staff nurse from the Pavilion 7\u00a0unit at Cooper University Hospital, was the DAISY Award winner for October 2023. Cierra\u2019s dedication to Cooper nursing and the extraordinary care she provides to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolade:<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was my nurse when I was first paralyzed. She was such a loving and understanding nurse. I would cry and she would talk to me to help me feel better. She was exceptional when it came to my health care needs. My mom saw her at Wawa, and she bought us lunch which we are so grateful for because we are homeless. I couldn’t walk in Wawa, so she came out smiling as usual and talked to me for a bit. Her personality is great, she has a glow about her that makes me feel happy when I see her. She has such a beautiful soul. It took me a while to nominate her because I lost the paper, I wrote her name on and didn\u2019t realize I could just use her first name. So sorry for the long wait. You deserve to be recognized for your kind and generous ways. You kept me sane. Thank you. I\u2019m on her floor again but sadly I didn\u2019t get to see her this time. My mom and I were extremely happy with her. She only deserves the best.\u201d<\/p>\n
