Lisa O\u2019Brien,\u00a0BSN, RN, a staff nurse from the Maternal-Fetal Care Unit at Cooper University Hospital, was the DAISY Award winner for November\u00a02023. Lisa\u2019s dedication to Cooper nursing and the extraordinary care she provides to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolade:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am an RN, but I was also a patient facing a very difficult time in my life. I was completely alone, but she stepped up and showed me true compassion and empathy. I have really bad anxiety, and she stayed with me when I received a blood transfusion for the first time and reassured me that I would be ok. She checked up on me frequently throughout the night and was there for me any time I needed it. She is one of the greatest and kindest nurses that I have had the pleasure of getting to know, and she is like that with every single one of her patients. She has such a positive impact on patients\u2019 wellbeing, which is such an important aspect of being a great nurse. She helped me feel comfortable and took her time explaining everything to me so that I wouldn\u2019t be anxious or afraid. She is the gold standard of what a phenomenal nurse should be.\u201d<\/p>\n
