This event, also known as the\u00a0Festival of Colors and Spring<strong>,<\/strong> will take place on <strong>Wednesday,\u00a0April 17, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Event Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Date:\u00a0April 17, 2024<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Time:<\/strong>\u00a04 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0The lawn outside\u00a0the Roberts Pavilion (Camden Campus)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Attire:<\/strong>\u00a0Feel free to wear any attire, preferably white. However, black scrubs or other clothing are equally welcome in case changing isn\u2019t feasible. Please bring a change of clothes if you can.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>What to Expect:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn and experience the Holi traditions.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy free Indian snacks and drinks on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/li>\n<li>Dance, laugh, and celebrate the playful throwing of colored powders and water with fellow Cooper team members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Participation Details: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participants should plan on leaving the lawn without re-entering the hospital. Anyone who must return to work in the hospital after the event will be directed to enter the side emergency exit door to the Conference Center for clothing changes to prevent tracking colored powder inside the hospital.<\/li>\n<li>Access to the respective parking areas will be available from outside the main building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Background on Holi:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Festival of Colors:<\/strong>\u00a0Holi marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes the victory of good over evil.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ancient Origins:<\/strong>\u00a0Dating back to the\u00a0<strong>4th century<\/strong>, Holi is celebrated by the South Asian diaspora around the world.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tradition of Gulal:<\/strong>\u00a0During Holi, participants throw\u00a0<strong>gulal<\/strong>, a colorful powder made mainly from cornstarch and food dyes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance of Gulal Colors:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Blue:<\/strong>\u00a0Calmness<\/li>\n<li><strong>Yellow:<\/strong>\u00a0Happiness<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pink:<\/strong>\u00a0Good health<\/li>\n<li><strong>Green:<\/strong>\u00a0New beginnings<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purple:<\/strong>\u00a0Peace and wisdom<\/li>\n<li><strong>Orange:<\/strong>\u00a0Courage<\/li>\n<li><strong>Red:<\/strong>\u00a0Love<\/li>\n<li><strong>White and black:<\/strong>\u00a0Not traditionally used<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We hope you will join us to celebrate this vibrant occasion with our Cooper team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Graduate Medical Education (GME) Diversity Committee\u00a0at\u00a0Cooper University Heath Care\u00a0is happy to announce our inaugural celebration of the Hindu festival of Holi.
