Kelemen 1 North<\/strong>, a dedicated area for ED patients who are waiting to be admitted, is now open on the first floor of the Kelemen building across from the elevators (the former Emergency Department administrative offices). There are entrances located across from the Kelemen elevators at either end of the unit.<\/p>\n

As an extension of the Emergency Department (ED), this unit is exclusively for ED patients, providing them with a considerably calmer and more comfortable experience before a hospital room becomes available for them. This new unit is intended to alleviate the boarding of patients in the hallways of the ED and help our team provide patient care more effectively. The room numbers of this new unit \u2014 ED64 through ED73 <\/strong>\u2014 are reflected in Epic to locate patients.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Kelemen 1 North has a sensory room designed to improve the experience for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). With a variety of design elements including colorful visuals, adjustable lighting, interactive sensory activities, and tactile materials, our sensory room is tailored to promote comfort, safety, and well-being for IDD patients, their caregivers, and team members.<\/p>\n
