The theme of this year\u2019s Maternal Health Awareness Day\u00a0is \u201cKnow What\u2019s at Stake.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>The maternal mortality rate in the United States remains unacceptably high, and the majority of these deaths are preventable.\u00a0Nearly half of these deaths occur between seven and 365 days postpartum, not at delivery, and Black and American Indian\/Alaska Native pregnant and postpartum people are disproportionately affected.\u00a0At Cooper University Health Care, we are proud to stand alongside mothers and families to provide exceptional care at every stage of their journey\u2014from pregnancy to delivery and beyond. On Maternal Health Awareness Day, we shine a light on the importance of maternal health and our shared responsibility to improve outcomes for all mothers.<\/p>\n

Every mother deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care and the resources to navigate the challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery. In 2025, Cooper Camden will introduce a volunteer doula program as a resource. If you are a doula interested in participating or a patient or family member interested in more information, please call 856.342.2000 and ask to be connected to the Doula Liaison. By raising awareness, promoting health equity, and working to eliminate disparities in maternal care, we can create a future where every mother feels supported, heard, and empowered.<\/p>\n

At Cooper, we\u2019re committed to leading the way with advanced maternal-fetal medicine, specialized care, and a dedicated team that puts mothers and families first. With innovative new programs like our volunteer doula program, we strive to ensure that we provide individualized support for moms to meet their needs in caring for themselves and their babies.\u00a0 Because when we care for moms, we care for our communities.<\/p>\n
