Joshi, MD, FACS<\/em><\/a><em>, Designated Institution Official, Graduate Medical Education.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Friday, February 28, 2025, is \u201cThank a Resident and Fellow Day.\u201d\u00a0On this day, we pay special recognition and express our deepest thanks to the nearly 500 house staff in 51 programs who help us to serve, to heal, to educate.\u00a0It\u2019s right there in our organization\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n<p>We educate because we know that including residents and fellows in our physician teams means our patients get better care.\u00a0Study after study have confirmed lower mortality, fewer complications, and better outcomes in hospitals that train the next generation of physicians.\u00a0 Having the privilege to teach house staff also attracts the best and brightest teaching faculty, which in turn, improves patient care.<\/p>\n<p>So, on this day, when you see a resident or fellow, please convey your thanks!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please see below for a message from Amit R.T.
